Mariposa Skies started with a walk along a beach in Rio de Janeiro. Ipanema to be exact- (cue song in head now.)
I was walking along enjoying the beauty of Brazil and listening to the music of Carnaval.
Everyone seemed to be out that day and the city was alive with all the festivities. Something caught my eye down on the beach- it was a beautiful and brightly colored canga (sarong).
I walked by it at first, being that I was very shy and spoke very little Portuguese. But as I kept walking, something told me to go back and buy that canga. So I did.
Little did I know it would be the start of something.
This canga has since traveled the world over with me- starting in Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Uruguay then on to Spain, Portugal, England, Morocco, Bali, Japan, and not to mention has been my comfort throughout my travels in the United States as well- having gone with me to New York, Chicago, Santa Fe, Bryce Canyon, New Orleans. Basically, wherever I go, it goes.
So why am I telling you about this canga?
Every business has a story and that story has a beginning- a moment really- when it all started. Often those moments seem insignificant at the time, but looking back you can see the greater picture.
My business today doesn’t look anything like it did when I first started. It has had many transitions and pivots along the way.
When I named my business Mariposa Skies, I didn’t realize how my business’ namesake would be a clue to the transforming journey it has led me on.
Like the butterfly (mariposa in Spanish) goes on a journey of transforming from the caterpillar to its beautiful winged version, I too have experienced a similar journey of transformation with my business.
I started out with a women’s online boutique that was inspired by my travels around the world. It then transitioned to creating a platform to celebrate and support independent artisans from Morocco, Argentina, Bali, and Japan.
And now it’s in a new phase, perhaps in one of its biggest transitions, transforming into something more holistic in nature- one that incorporates healing, reconnection, spirituality, experience and exploration.
Mariposa Skies is becoming a fusion of sorts. I am a healer, an intuitive and an animal communicator, and I’m in the process of bringing all the different aspects of me and all the gifts that I’ve had all along together.
This transition in my business is because I'm sensing of disconnection in the world right now. Not only are we disconnected from each other, but we’re disconnected from the natural world, disconnected from the spiritual world, and disconnected from who we truly are.
I offer women various ways to reconnect with their mind, body, and soul. Whether it be through a 1:1 crystal energy healing session, listening to one of my channeled meditations, learning to travel through this life intuitively via my podcast, or seeking Spiritual guidance from intuitive crystal readings on my YouTube channel.
All of these things have one thing in common: they’re all about helping you reconnect with who you truly are.
Dr. Wayne Dyer once said, “Our job in this lifetime is not to shape ourselves into some ideal we imagine we ought to be, but to find out who we already are and become it.”
This took me a long time to get to a place where I found out who I already am and right now, I'm in the process of becoming it.
So I hold space for you here- space to heal, space to be, and space for you become who you already are. You already have everything inside you. Trust yourself.
